Established in Mumbai on September 12th, 1947, The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. began as a subsidiary of The Oriental Government Security Life Assurance Company Ltd. It transitioned to a subsidiary of the Life Insurance Corporation of India from 1956 to 1973 before the nationalization of General Insurance in 1973. In 2003, ownership shifted to the Central Government when shares held by the General Insurance Corporation of India were transferred.

ORIENTAL, headquartered in New Delhi, operates 29 Regional Offices and over 1800 offices across various cities in India. The company also has overseas operations in Nepal, Kuwait, and Dubai, employing approximately 13,500 individuals. Starting with a premium of less than a lakh at its establishment, the gross premium rose to Rs. 58 crores in 1973 and reached Rs. 13,199 crores by the end of the 2018-19 fiscal year.

OICL AO Scale 1 Vacancy Eligibility Criteria

OICL determines eligibility criteria for different positions. The criteria outlined here are fundamental for applying. Nationality : Applicants for Company recruitment must be either:

• (a) Indian citizens,
• (b) Nepali subjects/(c) Bhutanese subjects/ (d) Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
• (e) Persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
• Note: Candidates falling under categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

OICL Recruitment 2024 Education Qualification

• Accounts Administrative Officer– Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / B. Com / M. Com
• Legal Administrative Officer- Graduate in Law.
• Actuaries Administrative Officer- Post Grad Degree in Math/Stats/Actuarial Science or a Graduation with at least 4 Actuarial Society of India exam papers passed.
• Engineering Administrative Officer- BE/ BTECH
• Engineering (IT) Administrative Officer- BE/ B.Tech- IT/ CS or MCA
• Medical Administrative Officer- MBBS/ MS

Educational qualifications should be from a University/Institution/Board recognized by the Government of India or approved by Government Regulatory Bodies.
